Style and Animation Conflict+Thoughts

It has come to my own attention in this project that I am conflicted on the general style of how the characters will be drawn in animation. I know I have the designs of the characters mostly complete, however I am wondering if any contrast with the background will be needed or if the characters themselves need to reflect a style different to my previous projects. I do enjoy the semi realistic look of the lead protagonist, very childlike as intended.
