Today I have been to my Aunt's artshop (Fiveway's Arts and Crafts) for green screen card, black card and a styrofoam ball. The green /black card is going to be for my stop motion animation, I wanted to go with stop motion as it has an otherworldly look and movement to it, many old films have utilised it and to great creepy effect with its slowness, or it jittery fastness .
After Effects animations are too clean and seeing as I have a rostrum camera stand and DragonFrame Stop motion software, it seems ideal. The styrofoam sphere is only in case certain ideas go awry, so I can experiment with it if I have to.
I have applied the threshold effect on the exported video from dragonframe, this separates dark and light into black and white. Hey that rhymed! To transition into the nucleus from the TV head scene I have generated a black circle to scale out from the rounded rectangle turning the white circle into some sort of ring with the black background.
I am pleased with the results, I am making progress.
