Professional Experience: London Short Film Festival- Relaxed Screening.

My student short film, What's the Time had been recently screened alongside other short films from all over the country. I went to see the screening after booking tickets with a family member.

One particular film: A Wider Screen was my favourite as it explored the relationships of socially awkward people using a Virtual Reality program. It was a documentary that showcased the healthy attributes of technology and escapism in peoples lives, particular two men whose relationship bloomed using the animated avatars of cartoon dogs, which was strange but also rather introspective of how they chose to view eachother and how that eventually made them confident enough to meet up and date in person. That sort of extension of a personality through online interaction and meeting people with diverse tastes could allow me to start simple business online in some sort of group or community. It can also works it's way into future illustration portfolios and help me find an agent. Just a good thing to think about. Despite my awkwardness with some of the other film-makers I did have my family member to support me and talk about my film with the people who chose to screen it. When I came back to chat, they made sure to convince me that I should keep making films because I want to and that I have a creative style. It made me feel better after all that, the films were generally made with several people working on them whereas I had made entirely made my film on on my own, which convinced me that it wasn't as low quality as I would have assumed.

Overall it wasn't the best day, but the films did inspire me and I tried my best to socialise despite awkward results.I was encouraged and I do hope to make better projects in the future.
