Considering the route taken in watercolour backgrounds for the project ran into a complicated dilemma when thinking on how the rabbits hutch will look in the final animation. It is animated yet it needs to be a part of the environment, the turning point between the two worlds. My fear would be that re-creating the same number of assets via painting would take a significantly longer and tedious effort to do. Especially when I want it to look just right for the film.
This experiment is to combine the same digitally drawn lines I used for the test animatic shot and combining them with the watercolour texture borrowed from previous scans. These could then be cut and fit into the shape of the individual pieces via the magic wand tool. It looks okay but it doesn't entirely seem to match the style of the project. I will have to re-evaluate my methods and think on ways to make the textures and drawings look right in the final composition.
