The East Wind by Charles E. Burchfield 1918 has a nice expressionistic quality I like. From the way it depicts the wind and how it warps everything around it. Everything from the ground to the bushes and even the house is skewed with speed lines.

The Seasons (Spring) By Jasper Johns 1987. One key thing that interests me in this image is the depiction of what looks like rain reflecting light. These lines give a sense of speed and fragility as the water hits the earth at a rapid pace, this would be a nice style to apply to my rain scene.
