Today we visited a studio in which we looked at their work and watched the lectures by Carl Rush, who represented a graphic design studio CRUSH. And an illustration agent representing AGENCY RUSH. (Helen Rush)
They both have worked in advertising, book covers, animations etc. I can't remember much from the lectures except for some tips they gave in being successful with clients.
1. Value your work, dont get underpaid to make something more than what its worth.
2. Organise. Keep the projects/assignments for clients organised, don't try to multitask everything. (That's for stressed out university students)
3. Have a consistent art style.
I don't entirely agree with having a consistent art style as I feel it can stifle experimentation and limit creativity on the illustrators side. I don't exactly want to go into marketing anyway.
Here are some names of people who have worked for these studios, I didnt get photos of the art but at least I can look back on these names if I'm interested in referencing them.

GIORDANO POLONI
