Final Result-

This is my development of the scene in which the camera spins to the back dentist's office. My project aims to combine several methods and techniques I learnt over the course. I was utilising 2D frame animation for the ground underneath the building whilst the building itself would be a stop motion paper mache model. I made the model itself with cardboard first and laid several layers of paper and glue. PROS: I have mostly got the shape I wanted and the colours look good too. CONS: With glue there is a reflective surface and it definitely stands out in the lights from my rostrum camera stand.
I didn't have a proper coloured screen to use colour key appropriately on my model, it was especially bad seeing as all I had was green...and the house itself was green....yay. UPDATE: I recall using an method could be used to substitute green screen, if it works out I am saved. I think it rotobrushing.
UPDATE2: Thank goodness I took to trying that out. It took a while but here is how it goes. I draw around sections within each frame that is rendered of the footage I am editing, the pink lines around the subject I want to keep and the area outside will be excluded. I had to render each frame of the animation I already did to exclude the background and have the house on a transparent layer. It didn't turn out perfect all the way but I am happy with how it looks.

For extra measure I used the cartoon effect in after effects to give the impression it belonged in the environment created for the film. As that was my original intention with the black lines around the corners of the building, as well as bricks and tiles. The shine is still there though although I have come to like it, it comes off as very striking amongst the vibrant colours.
Overall I am happy with this, it looks decent enough for the trailer.
